ELVIS PRESLEY RECORDS AND FILM POSTERS have always been popular with collectors - but never more so than in the case of Julie Wall - for whom money was no object
Employed by North Kesteven District Council she was responsible for decades for emptying the £1 coins in the parking machines of the eight car parks stealing £597,963 and investing her ill gotten gains into Elvis Presley memorabilia including vinyl records, film posters and cinema lobby cards.
Her story was told in the ITV film “Caught in a Trap” in December 2008 with Connie Fisher playing the part of Julie Wall.
The Elvis hoard collected was confiscated by the CPS and auctioned on 10th June 2007 to repay the council with Julie Wall jailed for three years in October 2005
Many of Julie Wall’s choice pieces from the Elvis hoard are being auctioned now on 3rd November 2015 at Astons Auctioneers in Dudley.
Also on offer at the auction: rare RCA Living stereo sampler records, promotional records and original rare film posters including the British Quad film posters for Love Me Tender, Blue Hawaii, California Holiday, Girl Happy, Follow that Dream…….
One of arguably the most fanatical and controversial Elvis Presley collections of all time is going under the hammer - Elvis is in the building!!
