It sounded like a LOT of models so I arranged an appointment to see Anders at his home. Upon arrival I was shown a small mountain of plain cardboard boxes - opening the first one was like Christmas for a Corgi collector! The box was bursting full of mint and boxed examples of early Corgi Cars.....
....After studying Anders' meticulously-made lists of his models and glancing through as many boxes as time allowed, plus countless hours researching the lists back at the office I came to the conclusion that the collection should be worth something like £40,000 to £60,000 at auction. I quoted a very competitive rate of commission (as we always do!) and was delighted to be told by Anders that we had got the job to sell the collection for him.
It was a pleasure to deal with and I was almost as delighted as Anders when the collection went under the hammer and realised just over £100,000.
Here's some of the auction highlights, press articles and a video relating to the sale.
