The first Vintage & Modern Fashion Auction is set to take place on Tuesday 21st February 2017. It will feature high-end designer bags, purses, clothing and accessories as well as unique vintage pieces and will be put together by Shelley Jukes (left) who will head up the department. Shelley’s expertise has been acquired over a 20 year career buying and selling vintage and antique clothing across Europe after completing her fashion degree. She also ran a boutique fashion label that incorporated vintage textiles in its designs. Shelley will be on hand to offer advice and valuations to people across the UK who may have that special fashion item to sell. We are very pleased to have Shelley on board!
For more than ten years I have been putting on successful Room and Internet Auctions at Aston’s and in that time I have seen the trend for traditional ‘antiques’ decline and be counter-balanced by an increase in demand for modern or 20th Century Collectables. The new Fashion department fits perfectly with this trend as things like designer handbags are not only collectable but usable, wearable and investable! Unlike a Victorian wardrobe these kind of items can easily be shipped by our in-house packing team to bidders all over the globe, ensuring we achieve great prices on key lots.
